September Update

Wellbeing - exercise and movement

Hello All!

September has bought us lots of lovely sunshine…so far! Shame for the kids who have had to return to school.

We are busy as usual, with lots of organised and impromptu activities. Nadia is currently carrying out armchair exercises, after a lovely walk on the Downs with some of the home’s residents. It is so lovely to have the Sussex Downs literally feet away from our front door. We make so much use of it in the summer months, spending time in the shade of the beautiful trees on the park bench.

We have a new addition to the family, a ‘real life‘ spaniel, that Betty has lovingly named Daisy. We hope to get a cat next month, to complete the homes ‘pets’. The pets look like they are breathing, sleeping soundly on their beds, and enjoying a groom of their fur.

We will be welcoming two new care staff to the home before the end of September, completing the staff family. We hope that they will be very happy with us.

Just a reminder that we offer respite care, for a day or a week, whatever is needed. Come along and get a feel for the home and what we have to offer. Sample the food, by staying for lunch and /or supper and join in the days activities if you want to. We find offering respite gives people the opportunity to learn about the home and the chance to get a feel for what is out there, when the time comes to needing a bit more support.

All the bedrooms have an ensuite toilet and sink. They are kept nicely decorated and although we offer furniture, any prospective residents can adapt their room to how they want, in fact we encourage it, to give the room a more personal feel.

We take on private or funded residents and pride ourselves on End of Life Care, never moving anyone on when the time comes. If you have any questions or queries, please do not hesitate to contact either Jo or Emma on 01424 211244 or drop us an email at info@stvincentscare.co.uk

Best wishes until next time.

Jo, Emma and the team.
